Hi Families,
There will be no spelling homework this week because of the half days and Thanksgiving. The students will still have math homework tomorrow! I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of you at conferences!

Hi Families!
The students have been working very hard the past few weeks. We have been learning a lot of things in reading, writing and math. The students have learned about making connections to the stories they read, fact and fantasy, and how to decode those tricky words we come across while reading. Also, they have been working super hard on their personal narrative stories! They just learned how to write a great lead to introduce their story to the reader. We just finished topic 2 in math, which was all about subtracting numbers and finding the missing part! The students took their test on October 25th and will take the pretest for Topic 3 on October 26th!
We have also learned a lot about respect and violence the past few weeks! The students have read many stories, completed activities with Ms. Ford, created a class poster, and we have started to decorate our classroom door!
Halloween is quickly approaching, and the students are definitely very excited. We will be doing a fun pumpkin math activity on Friday! The students will be counting seeds, measuring the height and weight of their pumpkin, and decorating them as well! On Monday, October 31st, the students will participate in the Halloween parade. Parents are welcome to stand around the lower field starting at 2 o'clock to watch their child walk in their wonderful costumes! Please do not send your child to school wearing the costume. We will be getting ready after lunch and recess :)
Thank you so much for your support at home! We wouldn't succeed in the classroom without you! :)
